Just like my "friend" I had a conversation with last night. I always tell people that I don't talk politics with friends. She wouldn't accept that. Then when she said that there are only two "blocks" and that she was on one (Democrat) and I was on the other (Republican). I told her simply that I wasn't stuck on either block and I get to freely walking down the street and enjoy life moreso that those stuck on their respective blocks.

She then had the gall to tell me that I indeed was on the "other block" but that I just misrepresent myself when speaking about the subject. So basically, it's one or the other, and if not.. you're a liar.

That's one of the biggest problems with America today. It's either right or left, dem or con, with us or against us. No common ground to be shared. Complete bullshit.

That is not correct. An adverb can modify an adverb. Serious is an adjective which would modify the noun.

So, it is either: Hooked is very serious about politics; or Hooked takes politics very seriously.

That's the problem. You misplace that frustration. It shouldn't even matter amongst friends. This is the problem with putting political discussion on message boards. Like it or not,friends are lost. Every time. And that's horrible because of you're friends,opinions shouldn't matter anyways.
