  • No I hate the fact that they get away with charging 2k for a laptop cuz it has an engraving of an apple on the front. is it worth $1200 more than the one I have? I dont think so. I understand they make good products, they wouldn't sell in the numbers they do otherwise, but I just think overall you're paying for a name brand. jmo though.

  • I paid for a Mac because they don't have as many issues as other pc's. I like the operating system more too and the fact that it syncs with my phone is great. I don't regret the decision at all.

    Yes, I find it hilarious that people say "apple is worth it" because they had a $400 PC that sucked and they just bought a $1200 Apple that's so much better. Yet they've never owned a $1200 PC. I'm currently writing this on my $1600 PC that I built about 4 months ago. This computer would smoke the desktop you get from Apple at anything. I've got a faster processor, 16 gigs of memory dual 2 gig graphics cards. Apple is all hype, and a waste of money.

    Exactly this. I went through three different pc's in a little under 5 years. I've had my macbook pro for two and never had a problem and I plan on having the same one for another two years. And all I had to do was click a button online and it was delivered right to my front door. No finding someone to build the thing for me or learning to do it myself; simple, easy, how it should be.

    2 pcs going to shit and all of the pictures and videos of my childrens births going with them prompted my decision. It's always guys that build computers and people that hate apple who talk shit on the MacBooks. Cnet and most other magazines gave it great reviews. Other than the price tag, I'm still waiting to here about my computers flaws.

  • Its not necessarily that you have to build it on your own, you just have to know what products are good and what products are crap. Typically amd cpus are great for desktops, but shit for laptops.

    Im not saying apples are flawed, just over priced imo.

    The two laptops ive had one has a design flaw and I knew that when I bought it used from a friend that the fans collect some dust and it overheats. The other one dropped off my bed when I fell asleep lol so the hard drive eventually crashed. Operator error or accidents contributes more to things breaking than just parts in general failing.

  • I have a Mac and several PCs running Ubuntu Linux. It is more about the quality of the product than the maker as I haven't had issues with any computer until it is over its rated product life and hard drives are the most important thing to pay attention to there. I have no trouble with sync on any of them, except on my Droid Maxx that just got upgraded to ICS. It keeps losing my calendar and I have to delete and redo the settings to get it back again. Worked fine before that and I'm sure I'll get an update any day now to fix the issue.
