Why don't you go to lowes and get some mole killer? How did you plant your seed?

Tried poison peanuts, et al., tried to kill the grubs, but now the mole is going deeper. I tilled the dirt, and used a spreader sith seed and lawn starter, and watered twice a day...not too much to show

No lawn out here in S.F. It's heaven.

I have the greenest, most plush lawn on the block. My problem was I'm in a relatively new neighborhood with zero mature trees. After much research I discovered the Pawlonia Elongata aka Dragon Tree.

It is the fastest growing tree in the world. It grew 8" in the last 7 days and a total of about 21" in the first month. It will be a great shade tree as it has huge leaves.

In the spring it gets great big fragrant purple blooms.

I enthusiastically write a check monthly to have my yard done.

I've read that tree can be invasive and can cause problems with your foundations if planted too close to your home. Apparently its roots spread like wildfires so I'm not sure what's considered too close. Have you had any of those problems?

I'm that guy too!After several deployments to Iraq and Afganistan I took to lawn care and growing roses as kind of therapy.It does me good to make things look nice instead of making hajjis look like hamburger meat. Seriously it sounds gay but it works .

I catch a lot of flack from my friends.They just don't understand why a Marine sniper would be so enthusiastic about his rose garden.I don't care who you are its nice to put a little effort in to something and watch it grow.

Root growth is dependent on the caretaker, provided you are involved in the trees development from infancy. First be sure to dig a hole significantly deeper than the root ball and fill it with a quality sandy loam mix. Roots will follow the water, so if you water it where the water goes deep into the soil like leaving a hose running slowly for a long period, the roots will go deep into the soil to get the water. If you water infrequently the roots will grow outward in search of water because what little moisture there is will probably be at the surface.

That being said I have planed mine a good 20' from the house, about half away between the house and the street.
