I'd be all for getting Howard and then not resigning him. They're never going to be worth a damn without getting high draft picks and making the most of them. It's gotten old watching this franchise just keep itself afloat, and that is reflected in their numbers and the public's lack of enthusiasm for them.

@MarkStein - ESPN says Josh Smith could be Rockets Plan B. Sounds more like ammo for Plan A. Dwight, Josh BFFs since preschool.
I like that idea.
@Draftexpress - Sources say Houston has an offer of Lowry, the #14 and #16 picks for Tyreke Evans and the #5 pick on the table. Up to Sacramento to decide.
I dislike that idea.

Is Deron WIlliams still considered a "superstar"? I know he recently said that his two choices in FA are the Mavs and Nets but I wonder if the Rockets land Howard that would change his mind. I know he played HS ball around Dallas but Houston is still pretty close to home.
