You are correct sir, they aren't saving money, they are making more money. If you are no longer paying Viacom, but still charging the customer the same amount you may not be saving money but your profit margin damn sure goes up.

For the record, I understand it is the nature of the beast. Dish Network just dropped AMC in a similar deal. But losing the 26 channels that Viacom represents would be a deal breaker for me.

LiOk, I understand the business behind it. Give and take. However, for me personally I feel like I have been in a bad marriage with DTV for the last 10-12 years. My bill continues to increase almost every year(be it because of media companies or not), yet my customer experience, technology offered, continues to decrease. I feel like I can't leave because I am a BIG TIME NFL Sunday Ticket fan and pay the ever increasing cost of that as well. I dread calling in to complain and put up a fuss to get credits or free programming, because I feel like I shouldn't have to and when I have done it in the past the representatives I have spoken with have pretty much treated me like dog s*@&%. I know that DTV will not be lowering my bill even though 26 channels have been dropped. But cut it anyway you want it, DTV is putting extra money in their pockets even if it is for a day or so. I could care less about those channels that were cut last night/this morning, but if DTV is keeping extra money in their pockets for a day, maybe their subcribers could too, WITHOUT having to call in and complain about it?

On another note, when will the new HMC receiver be available to current subscribers, and will we be able to get it for the price that new subscribers get it?
