So I was highly surprised when I heard that the list of mainland US target cities for a N. Korean nuclear strike included Austin. Any guesses as to why? Im guessing they don't like all of the tight-jean-wearing hipsters. That or Rick Perry.
Also I googled "what is the radius of a nuclear bomb" and found this
*These figures are for the proposed 100megaton Tsar Bomba, the biggest bomb ever designed*
Fireball radius: 3.03 km / 1.88 mi
Maximum size of the nuclear fireball; relevance to lived effects depends on height of detonation.
Radiation radius: 7.49 km / 4.65 mi
500 rem radiation dose; between 50% and 90% mortality from acute effects alone; dying takes between several hours and several weeks.
Air blast radius: 12.51 km / 7.77 mi
20 psi overpressure; heavily built concrete buildings are severely damaged or demolished; fatalities approach 100%.
Air blast radius: 33.01 km / 20.51 mi
4.6 psi overpressure; most buildings collapse; injuries universal, fatalities widespread.
Thermal radiation radius: 77.06 km / 47.88 mi
Third-degree burns to all exposed skin; starts fires in flammable materials, contributes to firestorm if large enough.
I tried the nukemap below using the North Korean nuke in the drop-down window and found that it would be much easier to escape.

Liberal hippies piss him off and poor play by the football team as of late.
Austin is the capitol of a major state, the center of research into many things nuclear- Jack Pickle Research Center which just might cause a chain reaction(please read might rather than would). Any attack on any city would be horrible.
275-0 scoring margin
Dana X Bible's National Championship team
I thought Houston,Corpus Christi or San Antonio would've been bigger targets for attack.

Yep. Nuklur (GWB) research. Federalized, Homeland Security, Fusion Center.
People are distracted by "Austin Weird", aka, Yuppie, Elite marketing.

I guess he didn't like the wait at Franklins either.

Austinites took to Twitter on Friday morning to figure out why Austin
That and he tried to order $3000 worth of hair care products from a company based in Austin and they asked for a deposit.
"Wait, could that be Austin? Why Austin?
"Well this is a great question. I would not have expected to see Austin on their target list," said Jeremi Suri, Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs at the University of Texas.
A renowned author, professor and foreign policy expert, Suri speculates if it is, it could have something in part to do with Austin's major university and ties to international business.
"Samsung electronics is a company that has a strong South Korean connection"
With North Korean missiles purportedly aimed at Central Texas, foreign policy expert says threat of attack extremely unlikely.
