One of the great problems in America today is the thought police who look for racist comments when none are there. Gabby Douglas deserves to be admired as a American gymnast. When I read NBC Air An extremely Racist Commercial it is a sad commentary.

Bad timing, but why don't they employ a Devils advocate type or Daniel Tosh to approve of the commercials before they air. It will be easier the drop the controversial ones. (which I'm sure this one shouldn't have been considered.)
I had to watch it more then once, I honestly didn't get what set people off the first time because the jump from the Gold medal gymnast to a spider monkey didn't occur to me. It had to be a case of bad timing coupled with some hyper sensitive people in the audience.
Maybe bad timing but NBC has been showing that commercial all the time during the olympics. I think I have seen it atleast 50 times.
Raise your hand if you think that's racist.
Please walk this way and pay no attention to the fact that we're walking you off a 5,000 ft cliff. Just move along. Eyes forward. Thank you.
Signatures are stupid. You should block them.
Howard Cosell says
Call it poor timing if you want but its only racist to those who are overly sensitive or that see everything as racist because they are racist.
To suggest its racist is to suggest NBC somehow scripted Costas comments and then ran the commercial which means they had to suddenly plan this after she won Gold or that whoever chose to put the commerical on the air either knew what Costas was going to say or in the blink of an eye chose that commercial.
But this is NBC, the most liberal company on the air, so hell no its not racist. That commercial has been airing all week long. Gabby is a badass and should be celebrated as a young girl who absolutely killed it under intense pressure. I for one was proud to watch her kick the russians butts. The overly sensitive are absolutely killing the fun of just about everything that makes the U.S. great.
absolutely not the same thing. Not even close.
If that is meant as a serious comment, I disagree.
Liberals divide people as to race. Unlike conservatives, they see race before they see individuals.
Costas is a doofus of the first degree. The NBC production of this Olympics has rightly caught a lot of flack. But obviously, NBC isn't knowingly going to be racist.
I sure hope I misunderstood you. If not, then I would disagree with you.
I mean libs pit rich against poor, White against Black and citizens vs illegals.
To say NBC commentators, who are almost to a man far Left, wouldn't do same is just wrong.
Is there a facepalm emoticon?

For the record, anyone who thinks this is racism is truly stirring the pot or high on some.
Sadly this is still an improvement over Olympics of the past. They are far and away the worst network when it comes to sports.
Now that i agree with but somehow dont' think Costas would do it. I still don't think that was done with intent.
Well now NBC has really gone and done it.
After moving from the US/Russia VB game, which has all white players, they immediately started a commercial with a turtle slowly crossing a finish line. Subtle racism? You make the call.
Oh, I agree 100%
I was talking about NBC news - not the NBC Olympic reporting team.
No way that was intentional.
Not racist...could be one of the worst commercials of all time however.
everyone in this country wants to be butthurt about something. you're either a victim, or you're an evil white oppressive bigoted conservative Christian male capitalist robber baron.
for a ton of pantywaisted retards in this country, it's like they feel as if they're missing out on the American experience if they're not whining about something. i wish they'd take their bleeding hearts and go swimming off the farallons.
