Perez is a long way away from being a big league starter. 103 pitches to get through five , with only 59 strikes. The kid has good stuff, but he needs better command. But he did get us another win; and moved us up on the Angels by 6.5. That should allow Holland to stay down in AAA until after the break. Hopefully, we will get Holland, Lewis and Ogando back at that point. If we get everyone back healthy; I don't know if I would give up much for a second half rent-a-pitcher. Obviously, we have a better chance to win the series if we have Greinke, but would you give up Perez and Olt to get him. I wouldn't at this point.

I saw it on LSB . It was one of the national guys. Heyman, Rosenthal etc.

I wouldn't either. I would rather take my chances in the off season. How would you feel about losing Hamilton but signing Greinke? I'd be fine with that as a consolation prize.

Other than Lewis, we have our starting staff signed through at least next year; and I suspect we can get Lewis to sign a two year deal. I wouldn't give up the farm for another starter at this point with the depth of our minor league pitching. What we don't have is power bats in the outfield ready to come to the bigs. I expect that Olt will be manning first base sooner than later; and that Martin will be our starting center fielder next year, but we need Hamilton or another corner outfield bat a lot more than we do Grienke.

i hope we don't go after grienke or hamels. i like the young prospects so I don't want to give them up. hamels is a douche and grienke has anxiety problems. i'll pass.

Looks like the Rangers and the Brewers could be working on a trade. The Brewers have a special assignment scout in Frisco today. #Greinke

Olt is probably going to be the centerpiece of the trade. Profar is untouchable.

I thought Newberg said Olt would be untouchable too? What a shame, I don't wanna do that if he's only a loan for this year.

With the relative lack of bats in our system, Olt has to be untouchable. He'll be our starting first baseman or corner outfielder by this time next year.

IDK Holland is just SO GOOD when he's on, ie second half last year. I want the Rangers to get CarGo for Hambone and minor league pieces (specifically arms (Bell, Buckel, Tepesch) since the Rockies need lots of those

Thats my thought as well. Olt is already playing in RF in Frisco. Parks said the bat is ready now.

CarGo is under control for 5years I believe. It would take a lot to get him

I would be willing to get him, that or put Olt in Josh's spot, I just don't see him coming back and if he did, I'd be a little disappointed. He's going to be a liability with a massive contract very soon IMO

Agreed on Josh. I haven't looked at CarGo's stats. Wonder what his number are like outside of Coors.
