I hope the news on Cody pans out. I've been wanting Texas to give him the rock 20 times a game since he showed up. His first 10 carries might net 35 yards, but his next 10 might get 70.

I agree on tendencies with Monroe. The staff will have to be conscious of mixing things up when he's in the game. His can be a great weapon if the defense doesn't know where he's going.

I think part of the problem with our offense over the past few years is that each one of our skill guys has a limited range of plays.

Ex:

Chiles seemed to run short patterns and WR screens.

Cody only ran short stuff and was not a threat on passing downs

DJ is the outside the hashes guy

Etc, etc...

We need players who can not give away the game plan when they come on the field.

Man, that's exactly the way I've been feeling. The running back by committee is okay, I suppose, but I'd really like to see what Cody can do if he's given the ball 20 to 25 times a game. He strikes me as the workhorse/power back we've been missing since Ced left, if they'd just keep giving him the ball....
