I am not surprised, Texas is a bad match up for Tech.

GG to Mike Davis was a good development the other night - arrived just in time. With the speed that Davis, Williams and Goodwin possess, that should open up the running game some. We should be able to do what we want on Tech offensively, and I believe Muschamp has been saving some blitz packages for Tech, as we need to rattle Potts’ fillings early.
I think it all comes together this week for us and we play a nearly complete 60 minutes and get a win. Ima say 35-28 Texas.

I think Texas is a bad match up for Tech, too. But I wouldn't touch this game from a betting standpoint either.

RB is advantage Tech. OL is even at best. WR is +2 for Tech. Tech is not a typical home field +3. I would give them +4. Night +1 for Tech.

QB, I think Batch is good, but I don't think either RB grouping would be worth giving points to either side.
The real key will be turnovers, QB play and field position.
The thing about Tuberville is that he actually plays field position about as well as any coach in the country. I know that sounds ridiculous considering it's Tech and we're all used to pyrotechnics, but Tuberville likes to see opponents beat themselves/self-destruct.
If Texas can be aggressive, yet not overreach, I think the Horns should win this game. The key will be Gilbert and keeping the Texas O out of 3rd and long because Tuberville knows how to create pressure on the QB as well as any coach in the country.

Vegas Insider is usually pretty close (they are the first to release)...but the first actual books will usually adjust some (or a lot) depending on if the line is off.
Texas actually opened with the real bookmakers at -4 and has subsequently been bet down to -3. That seems to indicate that the $ is on Tech, which is a good thing for the Horns. However, had the line actually opened at -7 or -7.5, that would have been even better for Texas, b/c that number is begging people to take Tech. -3 or -4 is much more reasonable and doesn't indicate too much either way.

I agree, I really liked seeing the -7.5 line last night, -3.5 really concerns me though. Seems like a sucker UT bet on the surface.
