That post will show repeatedly how pathetic our run blocking is. Some people will hide behind scheme changes and say/think we are having growing pains. I am sure we are, but flat out Hix/Huey/Snow and co are getting whipped at the point of attack. It doesn't matter what scheme we would be using, they would be getting dominated in their one on one matchups when they attempt to run block. That is the problem.

First, we made mistakes in evaluating and recruiting them. We then made mistakes in develoing them, possibly with poor technique in individual instruction from their postion coach. And last, they clearly are not inspired or motivated by their position coach or the OC. You can see it in the effort level, or lack thereof.

The OL/RB evaluation/recruiting have a bust the last four years, McWhorter must be fired because of the OL joke, the RB coach has promoted to position (team baby sitter) and Major has not allowed to recruit the RB is wants.

i remember you posting this summer about this offense and why in the world would Texas want to change something that has produced so much. I was thinking about it this summer and how much Mack and the staff we're mortgaging the team's immediate future on this scheme change, considering the lack of talent at running back and the OL issues. Sometimes it's better to go with what you got unless you're willing to write off a year or two (which can't happen at Texas). I know we have MB coming in next year, but i'm not sure it's going to be much better than the current version. The OL next year doesn't look much better and the addition by subtraction theory (on the OL) doesn't appear to have much merit.

Blaming the defense for this loss is nonsense, but typical disinformation by the Mack/Greg/Mac enablers.

Our offense scored 12 points, including 6 in garbage time against a 1-2 team that was shredded by Stanford and lost to K-State. Our offense and punt return team gave UCLA 13 points in the first half, alone. Therefore, from a scoring standpoint, the outcome was decided before halftime. The 80 yard drive was immaterial, the typical strawman argument.

We actually have quality talent evaluation, effective coaching and player development occurring on the defense. Are they perfect? No, but they're damn good. Is our defense hopelessly idiotic? Absolutely not. It is one of the best in the nation.

Is our offense a total and complete disorganized cluster f&%# by any available measure? Yes, and there is no hint of improvement in sight, which is confirmed by the comments of the OP's source. So stop blaming the defense for the fact that our offensive staff doesn't have a clue about what they're doing with this team. While inside sources are interesting, they aren't necessary to see the desperation on offense. 101,437 people all saw it before halftime on Saturday and gave up, just like the team.
