aggy already has 13 commits?

  • Just had an aggy friend tell me that they had 13 commits, and several of them were invited to junior days at Texas, but didnt bother showing up, instead committing to a&m! Wow! Looks like Sumlin is a pretty good recruiter. Kinda hard to believe that Texas has only 5 commits so far and aggy has more than twice as many!

    True...however, recent history indicates aggy recruiting is very fluid right around mid-Dec up to the very beginning of Feb

    Not a very original TROLL but its easy to get a bunch early when you offer a ton of kids that would jump at the chance to play for Sam houston State

    I guess several means three. And one of those (Huggins) probably wasn't going to receive an offer at the second junior day. Golden and Wilson are the only two that were first-day invites and likely offers.

    They have more commitments, but our hit rate on our offers is significantly higher. After tomorrow at 1, I anticipate we'll be at 50% committed from the players offered so far. They're at about 20%, and the bottom third to half of that class is unimpressive.

    They already have eight 3star players, 0 reason to offer some of the guys they have already with 1 year remaining til signing day.

  • They've settled in nicely on the B list. Kinda funny that they are getting the scraps onboard a bit earlier than normal. Decommit season is right around the corner!!

  • Aggie is doing a little work in the top 15 or 20 guys in state this year. That is big for them. OU is completely shut out at this point.

    Griffin - Grades, Wilson covets an offer from LSU, Gibson - soft commit, and supposedly Sumlin wants someone other than Stewart. So four of their top 5 guys (only ones in the 247 currently) stand a decent chance of never playing there.

    I agree, but the NCAA clearinghouse, the MLB, and Les Miles could take three of their top 4 prospects away, and no one knows what Gibson is going to end up doing at this point. Are Griffin's qualification issues overstated? Just curious.

    Not hard to believe at all. Aggy is the Supremely Awesome Football Power and "Kevin's" aerial tempest offense is going to blow the doors off stale old cow!

    I don't know if it makes you a good recruiter or a bad recruiter to go out and commit a bunch of 3 star players. Like acknowledged above, they have some nice 4star guys and should probably have tempered the 3 star activity a bit. I hope they fill up, that way if a guy blooms as a senior, UT will be there waiting to offer, and the good recruiter Sumlin sitting there looking like a duffus.

    aggy is getting ready to pull some SEC gray shirts, offer no longer available type stuff if higher ranked prospects want to go there and these 3-star guys are committed, and that wont fly with Texas high school coaches.

  • they have 60+ offers out right now. it was Valentine's Day a week ago.

    oh, and you should read their boards.

    -Swoops can't pass and would have been a WR in the SEC. he was scared of Matt Davis and Kohl Stewart.

    -Oliver they've already listed as a bust. "too slow".

    -Hicks apparently wasn't our first choice at RB, but we've offered no others.

    -Raulerson and Robinson? meh, big deal. plenty of others out there.

    truth? every player committed to Texas they offered. no player committed to aTm Texas offered. two we would have considered. that's exactly one more than their last class and zero if we don't continue to recruit DGB.
