a few thoughts on a Sunday morning

  • Mack's been here since 1998, how many F'ing times is he going to "start over". At some point when is he going to realize he has to start over because of the condition he's created within the program? Lastly, when is he going to realize there's a serious reason why the state's bluechips aren't as interested and that his staying here is clearly creating a lame duck status for the program and recruiting?

    Nothing against Jucos, but he shouldn't have to go that route at Texas. I get why Snyder goes that route at KSU, but not at Texas. At some point he's got to actually think of the program before himself. I realize the fact that he's stealing $5M plus annually from Deloss and the University is hard for him to leave, but he needs to get his retirement planning in order asap.

  • How many years has it been now since "we've started over" under Mack? Same tired BS that we've heard before, but yet we keep getting the same results. I wonder why that is???. Now that were going to a bowl game that he actually has a chance of winning, he wants our practices to be as physical as ever since he's been here at Texas? What a great time to start that (at the end of the season). I guess that means will actually be tackling now. I mean the fact that people inside the University actually put up with this is just astonishing, but then again $$$ talks. I wonder how many favors Mack had to give to some of these "big donors" in order to get their support. Just makes me sick. If Diaz comes back next year, I don't know if I'll even be able to watch this team. He is just flat out brutal.

    The problem is I wish his teams played with intensity, were physical and had a power running game...............anytime Mack says something the opposite is usually true..........

  • I almost think that this has to be a troll, just because of the INSANITY of Mack wanting to keep Diaz. That is about the craziest thing I've ever heard, and I just cannot believe it, except I can. If Mack stays and Manny stays, next year will be no different from this year.

    If Manny comes back, I am officially done with Mack. He is holding the program hostage the same way Bowden held Florida State back.

    Screw you Mack. If Petersen does sign with Arky it's probably because he was getting sick of Mack hanging around, just like Muschamp.

    We need a real coach Mack, GTFO. Your legacy is shit to me. By next year, it will be shit to everyone else too.

    there was no "hand the program off to Peterson" plan in place. I don't understand why people believe such a thing would exist.

  • Good writeup and thanks. But I think the DL is about as weak as they come. Some of it is scheme, but they can't move the OL and just get pushed aside. Our DEs rush themselves constantly out of running plays. We can't keep taking fat RBs and make them DL and expect to compete for NCs. We need those 330 pound Nose Guards and DLs that Alabama, LSU, etc. have to stuff the run and push the OL back into the QB. The urgency at LB is a direct reflection of our very poor DL - and remember how that was talked up this summer as a position of strength and depth. But that was because they looked good against our weak OL.
