Great video. I really believe having Bennie Wylie as a S&C coach will ultimately be the deciding factor in a lot of these ball games. The lack of drive and toughness killed us last year. Every time I see a video of him I get excited to see the results of this summer's workouts. I then start to feel really fat.

We never have a lack of talent IMO. We're Texas. Lack of leadership maybe,but not talent.

You don't get drafted just because your talented. Texas has always recruited well, but I would say the biggest culprit to last year is lack of development of that talent. This is something I hope the new coaches will change dramtically.

Yes i agree, it is just not the sole reason for drafting. It is also important that players show that they have improved on the raw potential they possess throughout college, which is done by production and showing skills that will translate to the NFL. There were many players who did not do this especially last year which also helped to result in 5 and 7. The lack of showing the required skills to make itto the highest level is on the general complacency of the coaching staff just as much as it is the players talent level. There are schools across the country to don't have nearly the talent that Texas recruited the past few years, yet been able to turn out prospects and wins.

Read the interview with JW guy. Even he cited lack of player development as the reason for not having players drafted. Tell me,how many players have Boise gotten into the NFL in the past 5 years?. The real improvements in lifting weights is done on your own time. Anybody can do it when a coach is asking you to. Our teams have won games for years by outlasting teams in the 4th quarter. New blood was needed and Wylie is a part of that but the kids still have to want it. He can help with that aspect.
