I will be stunned if Brown, Kabongo, or Ridley are in burnt orange next year.

Not sure whether or not his stock will ever be higher. I look at JCB as a guy who is athletically limited in regards to the NBA. I think if he hits his ceiling he's Jason Terry. Although Terry is a much quicker/explosive athlete. JCB is going to have trouble getting to his spots and getting his own shot at the next level. I think he's the kinda of guy who makes a good living playing in Europe. So I'm not sure he makes or loses money if the comes back. He is who he is.

Why does he not have a reason to stay? He has limited NBA upside due to not being the caliber athlete. Why would he leave early to be a 2nd round pick and play in the d league when he can have one more chance to be the man and lead a team at this level in games that matter? He'll just be a 2nd round pick next year anyway.

I understand a guy leaving early to be a first rounder or lottery pick. Why leave early, especially in a deep draft, to be a 2nd round d league fodder?

It is only the best way if he will be drafted and makes the team. That may be assuming facts not in evidence. He may be better off graduating college and having the ability to fall back on a college degree and a real life career. He can always go to another country and play like has been suggested, but that isn't a great way to make a living or raise a family from most reports.

I wish him well whatever he decides to do.

There's plenty of money to be made outside the US playing basketball. NBA and D-league aren't the only professional route. Frankly, given the choice between Europe and D-league, I might have to go with the former option, but that's just me.

Well if it's to feed his kid then he should go. He should see where he gets drafted then if he's a 2nd just go to Europe and try to crack a rotation there. That's his best shot IMO.

Best example of why condoms are important to people still in school. Because of that he has to forgo a chance to be a senior leader on a big program and instead opt to trot out in filthy gyms and garbage dumps in Europe for a few shillings

I'm more versed in pro ball than a lot of people you'll meet, I just didn't know he had a kid.

The d league pay is terrible of you aren't a draft pick, Preferrably 1st round, who's sent down to develop (like Corey Joseph who's making over a mil per because he was a 1st rounder). There is money to be made in Europe, but he'll have to crack some of the more lucrative and bigger leagues to make a lot. Playing for the Spanish league can be lucrative for example, but there are a whole lot more teams out there in leagues where you're lucky to get your check at all and often times play in terrible conditions in front of people that are highly racist and/or volatile. Look up the story of the Ime Udoka brawl for an example. Good luck to him but unless he quickly makes a name for himself and signs with a top tier European league he'll be in conditions that make UT's facilities look like heaven.

As much as I like JCovan for coming to Texas, JCB is not an NBA player. I can't fault him if he gets a promise of a NBA contract and leaves, but the Euro money should still be there in a year and if he goes international he will be away from his family, which will be hard so might as well stay another year.

Myck can definitely raise his stock with another year.

And we all better pray Ridley shows up as our interior presence is severely lacking.
