On our next recruit to commit; I wondered what the Longhorns position is in the many 2012 pre-season polls. Looking up the infor produced interesting results. There are several pollsters that will be changing their views after the season. Not well respected by the majority, Texas did pop up highly rated in a couple polls.

some guy named Alex Kay from something called Bleacher Report, brands Texas as one of the 4 most overrated programs for 2012.
We're going to find out soon enough, but I think the Horns can be an easy top 10 team and better, maybe a top 5 team if half the hype is real and the Longhorns play up to their talent level. The Horns could do very well this year.

I think they'll come in around No.20 when the polls come out in the fall. Probably the average if you did the math n all those rankings.
That No. 8 by Fox Sports is a little baffling. UT may be able to work its way up, but it has no business starting the season in the top 10 IMO.

I could see us being similar to KSU last season. Winning several games pretty ugly and feeling a little overrated towards the end based on the polls.

This Texas team is the opposite of Baylor's problem last year if break it down simplistically. Texas might have the top defense in the country but can the offense score enough when it has to in order to win consistently?

I think the offense next year will compliment the defense nicely. I don't see a lot of 3 and outs. The 2010 offense didn't give the defense a chance to be great. The 1977 team scored 13 points against #2 OU and 13 points against #8 Arkansas and won both games.

My thing is when the defense has a bad day, and there will be one at some point, is that the day the offense can carry them to the finish line?

The running game should be very good with an improved Oline & the addition of Gray. We need to avoid the injury bug that hit hard last year.
