We are starved for real football. Like many of you I am excited about UT's defense. In spite of my usually careful number study for business, or maybe because of it- I usually just watch football and come away with an impression maybe influenced by the announcer although I often watch in silence. I look at numbers the next day and rarely make the point to write them down. This year, I will do something completely different. I will keep a running record of takeaways/ giveaways. I will jazz it up, with a breakdown into red red zone and none red zone. I may for my records move the red zone to the 25. Any thought any of you might have? I believe that there is great correlation between victory and winning the turn over battle. Anyone, with record knowledge, please tell me the facts. I believe that UT wins close to 90 percent when it is plus 1 and I would bet money they do when plus two.

Diaz is a much better defensive play caller than Muschamp from a scheme perspective. Muschamp seemed to "guess" correctly many times on on 3 and out series and guess wrong giving up big plays.

Manny's defense seems more consistent and solid. He gets more pressure without too many obvious risky stunts and blitzes.

This is not the college study I read on the impact of turnovers but found this on the NFL and it was pretty interesting.
