What do people think about OKC trading "the Beard" to Houston?

  • Daryl Morey apparently took a couple of marketing courses, too.

pretty great move to get some interest in the Rockets.

if only i could get comcast's sportsnet houston. watched the Horns blank KSU in volleyball instead.

  • To go along with how bad ass Harden has played, Asik had 19 boards and Lin almost got a triple-double. Harden is raising the play of the entire team, making his teammates better, the sign of true star. He's making all of the moves Morey made look really good so far. Hopefully, this team will continue to grow as they get a chance to actually practice together.

I'm enjoying the NBA season pass free trial, been able to watch both games.

    How about NBA history?

    Or history of basketball?

I can give you NBA history.

    Rodman did it 7 times.

  • He's even making Marcus Morris look good.

  • I'm going to make this my de facto thank you Sam Presti for picking Russell Westbrook thread.

In tonight's loss to Atlanta Westbrook line looked like this:
    36 minutes
    5-18 FG
    14 Pts
    5 Reb
    9 Ast
    3 TO

  • Now if the Rockets can jettison McHale as the coach and get a guy that actually cares about developing the young talent on the team I would be content.

  • Just had to add this piece. I'll quote a few select things...

"Harden has done this before, so we shouldn't be surprised by his dominance. Plus, we've been blinded by our undying reverence for per-game averages and the star talents of Durant and Westbrook..."

"When defenses keyed in on Harden as the No. 1 option, Harden responded by scoring like Michael Jordan, and he shot 53 percent from the floor in these situations. Plus, it gets better: Harden dished out 6.2 assists per 36 minutes, up from his normal rate of 4.3 assists. And remember, he was racking up all those assists by feeding the likes of Royal Ivey, Nick Collison and Nazr Mohammed."

"He might not maintain his current torrid scoring pace, but there's a good chance he'll be in the conversation for the scoring title. When the Rockets handed a reserve player an $80 million contract, many thought Harden was nothing more than fool's gold. But more and more, it's looking like the Rockets found a true gem."

NBA - Is James Harden a No. 1 option? - ESPN

Tom Haberstroh says that James Harden, despite often playing the third fiddle in Oklahoma City, has proved that he can put up big-time stats and is a capable No.1 option in the NBA.

  • 34 games into the season and the Rockets have a better record now then I thought that they probably would have (20-14).

So far James Harden is exceeding the expectations that I had from him.

Harden is averaging 26.4 points per game (Top 5 NBA)

James Harden has scored 25+ points in 12 straight games.

I still like this trade for both teams.
