I liked the play-calling best. Mainly in the second half after Harsin had a chance to see his offense perform for the first time during the first half.

This includes Harsin's willingness to put Ash in to help finish a couple of drives. Last year Mack would not have done that, because he would have been too worried about hurting GG's "confidence".

An exciting offense that actually had a run game...Jaxon was fun to watch buy I can't tell you how awesome it was to see MB1 move the pile a few times!!! I can't wait until he plays a full game.

The obvious mindset change from our coaching staff that included playing 18 true freshman, many of them when the game was competitive.

Using Ash in a package in the red zone early....Fozzy running the wildcat and all sorts of unconventional offense we are not used to.

Also benching Gideon for poor performance after a total jock strap removing fake out in the open field and a terrible decision to hit a Rice player out of bounds. That may seem minor but to me it represents a complete shift from the prior philosophy.

For me the best thing to come from this game is the positive feeling that was generated. The team feels good about itself. The score was not all that different than last year. The outlook for the team following the game is worlds apart. The team will work much harder to make the needed corrections this week in getting ready for BYU.
