Weird deal with Kameel Jackson

  • Started some at OU as a freshman WR last fall. Apparently wants to transfer and has A&M players congratulating him on the move.

    Then apparently the Gigem mods and Sooner Scoop mods come back and say that Jackson won't be at A&M. Just a weird deal all the way around.

  • Apparently he hasn't been going to classes and might not be eligible anyways, no matter where he ends up..... Same story he had going on in high-school!!!!

  • I could see OU blocking future transfers from A&M because a good A&M is not good for OU with Texas recruits.

  • He was really coming into his own and I felt had a good chance to see the field more this year........until Metoyer showed up. Then, we have all kinds of talent coming in this summer with Woods, Neal and Shepard, so that ups ante even more. To top it off, Gardner just may be a one and done guy (I hope he makes it in) and perhaps Jackson felt it was too much to compete against.

    Now, if he didnt to class, that makes the choice pretty easy. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

    You didn't even mention Jalen Saunders (in 2013). Definitely crowded, even if he wasn't allergic to the classroom.

    That's a crazy transfer as well, Jalen Saunders was on the Bilitnikoff list last year at Fresno State.... And he transfers to OU the next year.....

  • Saunders has to sit a year though. Jackson would have had a chance to really put himself in play with a good summer and fall. That being said, if he really didnt go to class, it didnt matter if he improved or not. Amazing competition at the skill positions as well as the OL at OU this summer and fall. Wish that was the case at LB. Thats the only position I am really concerned about. Very thin there.
