I am not getting too excited about the defense in the 2nd half.
KU only had 3 possessions (and only one went 3 and out) in the 2nd half until the meaningless one with :12 left.
When we tied the game and needed a stop the same ole defense we have come to know and love surfaced. 3/4 on 3rd downs, 14 plays, 6:00+ off the clock and a critical penalty to extend the drive.
Also Weis was an idiot for throwing the ball on the last 3rd and 6. More likely to get a 1st down with the run. They couldn't pass all day/

I just finished reading this, Bobby. I agree with everything you said. I do not think that any of these struggles are any of the players' fault. This, solely, falls on the coaches. The fact that they can't take advantage of the opportunities, continue to go to the same plays, are predictable on offense, can't stop anyone on defense, and the players are undercoached should say everything about where things stand with the Texas' program under Mack Brown. Speaking of Mack Brown, I can't seem to find any reason why he would compare this team to the 2004 team. The man has truly lost it. He throws things out so people can grasp on anything positive he can find, because he has not answer for anything that is happening right now and he knows it. It is truly sad to see where the program has fallen to under Mack Brown. It is even sadder to see that top recruits come to play for him only to be undercoached and get embarrassed on the field by players with much less talent. I hope, by the end of this year, he sees what is happening to the program and decides to step down. Texas will not go back to being Texas under him, sadly, because he has done so many great things for the university. Mack Brown, if you are reading this, do us all a big favor and R-E-T-I-R-E!
