Bobby - can you share any insight into the RB Malcolm Brown situation, if you may know? Still injured? Personal stuff? Confidence?
Also, may be just me, but I noticed the def just reacting better out of the base packages...better DT play from mid-2nd qtr...players out of position at times, but better overall fundamentals when working out of base packages...

The defense got better when Demarco left the game. He is simply one of the worst players in Division 1. Coaches can't see it.
Defense got better when Diaz finally figured out that 7 in the box (to stop the run) & making the TCU QB complete passes to score points was the way this game should've been played. Unfortunately, he didn't figure it out until TCU already had the 14 points they'd need to win the game. I wouldn't get too excited about the Texas defensive performance in the second half...Gary Patterson wasn't going to throw a pass after the INT at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.
