I'll chime in on the defense. From the stands, our group continued to question why we'd move Edmonds outside of either DE instead of leaving him positioned between the two DT's in a traditional MLB position or between the DT and DE gap. Diaz had Edmond shifting outside of the DE quite often with Jinkens often times moving outside of the other DE or left playing one of the outside LB spots. This would leave the entire middle of the field open to which we wondered when ISU would start running QB draws or crossing routes. They did both effectively and I guess Diaz was content with letting his deep safeties clean up the underneath stuff.

It just seemed like we were constantly moving our LB's out of position. ISU also had a 4th and about a foot in the first half as I recall and we played Nickel with 2 LBs. Did we really think they were going to pass in that situation? Why not play a standard 4-3 and let Kenny V cheat into the box for an 8 man front to try and stop the conversion?

I think Diaz has some good ideas and strategies, but I fear he is over-thinking stuff again which could hurt us vs TCU and KSU.
