Vincent Hobbs!

  • Ok so Vincent Hobbs is committed to Colorado. I thought Texas was trying to recruit this kid, I can't imagine Colorado being able to beat out Texas one on one. So what happened did UT stop recruiting him or did he not have any interest in Texas? Then again I may have all my info crossed and am thinking about another recruit!

  • We brought him in for an official visit but didn't extend a scholarship offer.

  • Ok, yeah I knew he visited and I figured we didn't offer, was there a reason behind that? I don't understand why we would bring someone in so late in the game for an OV and not extend and offer.

    We offered other players that we liked more. There are way better TE prospects in 2013.

    Darrell Scott ring a bell? Lol...Wonder if his mom still has her bank job?

    I personally don't think Hobbs will add anything for the 2012 year, and I believe there are better TE prospects in 2013. IMO.

  • I hope the staff isn't too proud to get back in on Vince. He's a good athlete with upside, and a tight end by trade. Problem with a 2013 TE is that they probably won't be ready for college ball until 2014 (the time value of talent).

    If we can get Vince in now he could be ready to go by 2013, if not before. Clearly, a position of need. Looks like the coaches got distracted on this one, but it might not be too late.

    We don't offer everybody we bring in. Hobbs is a nice player, but he would not help us next year anymore than Bluett could if we switch him to TE. Hobbs did not get offered for a reason. Your comment about the coaches getting distracted is totally off base. They do this full time for a living, they are damn good at it, and they know way more than part time internet talent evaluators do.
    Cottrell is now a Horn.

    Darrell Scott, is that the kid that everyone thinks was bought to come to a certain school, i am guessing certain school was colorado, and was that ever confirmed that he was paid to play?
