  • Lists Baylor as his top choice with UT right behind, also says he wants to commit by the end of the month.

Had this to say about UT, “Texas is a good school, the coaches are real cool and they’re talking about rebuilding their whole program and they would love for me to come there and play for them,”

Robbie Rhodes Reacts To New Offers

It’s been an exciting week for FW Southwest (TX) wide receiver Robbie Rhodes. The 4-star playmaker added a handful of impressive offers from the likes of Texas and Texas AM.

  • I chuckled at the A&M fan response:

"Five or a six? He obviously knows nothing about Texas A&M."

So many ways a rival fan can comment on that statement.

I liked the one that said you can count on one kid every year to buy into the negative recruiting!

While it is true that we as fans are sometimes rather negative about A&M and their relative strength as a program, I somehow doubt that either the Texas staff or even the Baylor staff wastes much more than 30 seconds even mentioning A&M in their pitch. It might go something like this, "You got an offer from A&M? That's real nice, would you rather come to our school with better facilities, schedules, academics, coaches, and attractive women?"

  • Baylor is second in line in the state of Texas now, especially with A&M going to battle for the cellar of the SEC West with Miss State. I hadn't really realized how much they are benefitting from Aggie's absence until recently.

I think it has more to do with recent success and the Heisman than with A&M leaving. If Texas Tech switched the last couple years with Baylor, it'd probably be Tech getting a lot of love.

  • Other hilarious comments on his recruitment
    1. An Aggie offer is more of a resume builder than a Texas offer
    2. He's going to "sale" himself short or transfer within a year or two
    3. He's going to the highest bidder and that's Baylor or us.
    4. Everyone in the state is negatively recruiting against A&M because everyone knows that it's only a matter of time until A&M will be an SEC power and that's all we have against them.
    lol oh aggies!

Baylor has been recruiting well year by year, little by little. Briles has turned that around through his recruiting as well as his offensive prowess. It's not like they all of a sudden are in a position created by A&M's exodus. But because of what they've been doing, they're in a GREAT position. Tech is down. TCU just joined the big boys. A&M is gone now. Baylor's not only in a great location figuratively, but geographically as well. I'm really hoping we can start to take care of business with them now that RGIII is gone, but I guess we'll have to see what happens.

  • Briles runs an attractive offensive system that has been executing at a high level for a few years. He's putting guys in the league and collecting some hardware for recruits to gawk at in the Bears' trophy case.

I would almost question any offensive stud recruit from Texas not wanting to take a peek at the goings on in Waco.

The sooner we turn the offensive corner the better.

I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.

Thanks for that summary btown. After all the posts I've read on Horn sites over the past several years, I can honestly say that even with the few fools of our own that we have, we can't hold a candle to the morons in College Station. They own themselves time after time without even realizing it. Thanks nimwits. Best of both worlds. We now don't have to deal with them directly, but can still laugh at their jackassery.

Had not thought about that. I would have guess TCU benefited the most but it would appear you are correct.

Baylor could seriously help itself this year.

I wonder how badly the drug charges are hurting TCU?

Okie State does not appear to be greatly capitalizing on their success last year either. Perhaps my perception is wrong.
