I was there when this happened. It was pretty crazy but going back through the video and according to reports the bus ran a red light, and he happened to time his charge to run out there when the crosswalk first started. He was also wearing an Obama mask.

that's the busiest crosswalk on campus and has been for decades, if the driver ran that light, cap metro better break out the checkbook....

Ok, this was a funny story and all, but how lucky Nick was may be best shown by the awful story from the previous week about the death of a UT student who was drunk on the E-bus and fell back under it as it drove off.
Horrible story.

(And it's pretty gross for the video showing the death of an inebriated student to be preceded by a Captain Morgan commercial. Upon a second viewing, I was treated to a different ad, so I guess they caught that.)
