  • 31-17 Texas...having seen Iowa State play..i just dont see the athletes. the only way IState wins is we have a hard time moving the football...like last year...i dont think Jantz is going to react well to the blitzes he's gonna see..

  • Any prediction here, will purely have to be a guess with all the young guys playing and new coaches and schemes.

But I'm on the 10+ win bandwagon this year, so I say they jump out to a fast start like with UCLA.

    Texas Wins - 37 - 17

If they are, and aren't using this game as a stepping stone to rebuilding a Championship team, it will be a close score.

12 - 24 ISU - Horns drop the first game of 2012 with 5 more to come.

If the Horns don't show up ready, turn the ball over 5 times and the Twisters score TD's on them.

What?! Everyone thinks Texas is going to win? Or do we want to think Texas is going to win? I ran into a couple of jackasses who were so full of it the week after UCLA on how good the TX team is and has a chance for a national championship... WTF?! 3 good games and fans are already full of it. This team is maybe 2-3 years away from a national championship depending on who joins, who leaves, and how hard they work on it...

To be a good team, they have to lose a few games -- only that will make them work harder and be stronger. Mack Brown already talked about how the team was full of it during practice last Wed. but thinks this changed on Thu. I hope so...

I do not think they will lose this game. But I do think they will be tested. Probably a second half game. 34-24.

But I think they will lose to OK and/or OK State. And those will be learning experiences for everyone -- players and fans. So far the coaches seem to get it and havent let it get to their heads or gotten complacent.

Rebuilding year, no MNC. Would it be cool to see the Longhorns shock the SW, sure, and win Conference.

  • 38-17 Texas. The QBs should start to get more throws, moving the ball faster and Brown is showing what he can do for you.

It's amazing that at the end of the season Texas might have true freshmen leading in receiving, rushing and passing. With the shear amount of true and rs freshmen on the 2 deep, 7, it seems like this team is determined not to have anything to do with the players GD touched.

Sidenote: This game better get here quick, I just started marinating some wings and am having a hard time not eating them.

I'm thinking the Horn's run away with this one.

I just can't overemphasize the difference in this team after the change of qb. To me, it has the exact same feel of when VY was let loose or when he got the starting nod. I'm not suggesting McCoy is VY, just that . . . I don't know how to explain it . . . but I see the magic forming.

ISU is about to run into a bulldozer.

Week 1. What we heard: Watch out for Rice, a veteran team, we're full of rookies things could look bad. Result: Blow out. Week 2. What we heard: Watch out for BYU. Losing team last year but ended on a high note; full of older players who are starting to come into their own. Most didn't give us much of a chance. Upset alert on ESPN. Result: close win, We were in trouble until McAsh Brown showed up. Week 3. What we heard: Watch out for UCLA. BYU and Rice, well they're nice, but UCLA has real athletes. California Athletes. And they wont be lolly-gagging like before. They'll be up for UT. We're gonna have trouble on this one. Most folks thought it was gonna be a close battle we would be lucky to win. Result: Blow out with near domination from beginning to end. Week 4: What we are hearing this week: Watch out for ISU. BYU, Rice and UCLA, well they're nice, but ISU has real athletes. Hummm. Where have I seen this movie before? Result: ????

I call BS on the ISU build-up. ISU has a gambling QB that likes to hold on to the ball. He scrambles for some yard and improvises. This is the game we start reeling in the sacks. Stop the run, QB throws INTs . . . its tailor made for our D.

I just don't see ISU scoring more than 13 without aide from a defensive TD or turnover deep in our territory. I also don't see ISU slowing down the McAsh Brown Harsinwhite Machine.

31-13 (just because I like the symmetry, but I really think 38-13).

    Whadayathink?

    I like your style!

There is a deep and vast canyon between UT beating ISU and by a fairly wide margin and UT challenging for a national championship. No one here is suggesting UT is NC material yet.

  • Mykkele Thompson DB/Emerg. QB

    Play

ATH Mykkele Thompson #2 *SIGNED LOI TO TEX...

This is a highlight I made of 2011 ATH Mykkele Thompson from San Antonio Stevens High School. Listed at 6'2'' 180, Thompson is the type of athlete with the size and speed all college coaches covet. Led the San Antonio Area in rushing with 2,859 yards (No.4 all-time in SA single-season list) with an average of 12 YPC and 40 TDs. Also passed for 935 yards with 7 additional TDs. Committed to Texas.

  • I've said this for the last two weeks, and i'm not going to back down from my prediction-

    Texas- 45
    ISU- 14

ISU's defense is putrid, they little to no athletes that can cover Ship/Davis, their front 7 is gonna get dominated by our Oline/Brown, and their CB/S's are gonna get lit up by our TE's. Our D is gonna bull rush their weak ass o-line and make Jantz throw into coverage, which will ultimately be picked off. The Horns will have 3 ints on D, and I predict at least 3 sacks.

  • The only way the Horns score under 40 in this one is because the running game is working so well, still think we outscore them 44 - 19 and can start looking for the paperclips (ou) by the middle of the 4th qtr.

Everytime we go to the RRS we ALWAYS get tickets on the sooner side. I wouldn't have it any other way :)

If it makes you feel better, one of my best friends is a sooner fan, and the other is a Tech fan. My cousins are aggie fans (and graduates), and my cousin's husband is an aggie undergrad and a baylor law school grad, and my other cousin is a tech fan. So yeah, i'm the only horn fan in my entire family.

  • Kelso,

Was your cousin's husband ready to sue himself. Helluva combination an Aggie Bear.

This will be the fourth time we have gone the game. Always sat on the Sooner side. So far I am
ahead 2-1. I really believe it will be 3-1 after this season. Gotta believe.

Haha. I thought it was a bit of a weird combo, myself. The good thing about my family is that they don't take themselves too seriously, and they certainly aren't delusional when it comes to aggie/baylor football.
