US Attorneys/FBI Involved With New Saints Investigation

  • New accusations...

"Sources familiar with Saints game-day operations told "Outside the Lines" that Loomis, who faces an eight-game suspension from the NFL for his role in the recent bounty scandal, had the ability to secretly listen for most of the 2002 season, his first as general manager of the Saints, and all of the 2003 and 2004 seasons."

"Also underneath the desk in front of Loomis, said the sources, was a metal box that contained two belt packs similar to those worn around the waists of NFL head coaches during games. The packs powered the listening device available to Loomis, which was, according to sources, hard-wired to the audio feed of the opposing coaches."

This is not going to end well. OTOH, the league should have crushed the Patriots when they got caught with the videos, and this stuff wouldn't go on.

Exactly. It'll be harder for the league to bring the hammer down now on the Saints when nothing major was done to the Pats.

Loomis may end up being suspended indefinitely after all that's gone on recently.

  • There is a lot more of this going on with many teams.
Rumors that Saban in Miami had his DT's mic'd up during games and the list goes on and on.

  • Rumors now coming out Jerry Jones tried to do the same thing as the Saints by listening in to opposing teams coaching head sets...fortunately, Stephen Jones stepped in & showed his father the 2 cans & long string wouldn't work if attached to coaching head sets

I've noticed that Stephen seems to garner a lot more respect around the league as a front office guy than Jerry does.

"Allegedly", Nike-douche up in Oregon has the same setup.

    A little Bruin-birdie told me.

YYYYYYYEPPPPPPPP! But Tom Brady and the Pats were too valuable of an NFL commodity for anything to really happen. Ole Roger G. ain't all that.

  • Some people are defending this by saying no competitive advantage was gained.
WTF??? Can somebody hack into your computer and get caught but not prosecuted
because "it appears" they didn't steal anything? How about the guy that breaks into your house just to "take a look around" but supposedly didn't take anything.
This no harm no foul BS makes willfull disregard for the law more plausable.

Mickey Loomis is in top management for the Saints. This is actually the third time he's had some sort of malfeasance. Everyone seems to forget he swept the pain killer drug abuse
incident under the rug for the Saints.

I see a obvious pattern of willfull disregard of rules and the law by the Saints who might think they are above the law.

Plaintiff: Saints GM Mickey Loomis was covering up pill abuse - USATODAY.com

Geoff Santini says at first he wanted to save the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints from themselves in the Vicodin controversy. But then, the Saints former chief of security since 2000 decided to sue the team for lost wages and other damages.
