Tracking BU basketball in the Drew era

  • The statement below is unreal..............".....his staff wasn't in to political correctness and kissing the ring of bluebloods. They intend to land top talent. The foundation for success has been laid."...................

No Baylor it meant Drew and his staff were willing lie and cheat. In other words the end justifies the means..............I can't believe a writer would type that with a straight face! In addition most of the time when you have a resurrection you must have had "life" first.

" For example, Bill Self was upset over an incident involving the recruitment of Dwight Lewis. Baylor and Kansas were both recruiting the 6'5" wing hard. He was from Houston. One of the Baylor coaches wrongly quoted the graduation rates of Kansas basketball players in trying to gain an edge in Lewis' recruitment.

Self was furious. The Baylor staff apologized for the mistake. Lewis ended up committing to Southern California. But the word was out- Drew and his staff weren't into political correctness and kissing the ring of the bluebloods. They intended to land top talent. The foundation for success had been laid. "

  • As much as I like Self, he shouldn't be upset with anyone regarding recruiting tactics

  • The thing that irritates me the most is that Drew seems to want it both ways. He can cut corners, bad mouth other schools, tiptoe up to the line...and then just across, all the while touting how religious he is.

Thats usually the deal with college coaches. Get your hands dirty in recruiting all the while extolling the virtues of yourself and program to mom and dad and anyone who will listen

Thought it would make for some discussion.

Nothing personal but I think anything about Baylor or Aggie is going to incite the fan base right now. I would not be surprised if Drew had a hand in why RSJ decommited with his ties to the underworld that is the AAU scene.
