Tony Romo - Both Legs Broken From Car Accident? Nope

  • Not legit...

"A spokesperson for the Dallas highway safety authority (HSA) has confirmed that Tony Romo has broken both of his legs in a traffic altercation. He has been transported via ambulance to a local Dallas hospital for treatment, and the full extent of his injuries are not known at this time, however, both of his legs were visibly broken and not life threatening according to sources."

"The accident involved a 2012 BMW driven by Tony Romo and a 76 year old female driver in a 2010 Audi. The driver of the Audi was issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light before striking the vehicle driven by Tony Romo at a high rate of speed."

  • This exact rumor was started about Arian Foster just before the playoffs started, FYI.

Edit: found it. Yeah, I'm going with fake.

  • Pretty sure that the "HSA" couldn't legally name the victim.

Thanks Chuckie...this sounded strange from the beginning

  • Soooo the only difference in the articles are the player names and the cities. Other than that the articles are identical lol. Not sure who the 76 year old driver is of the Audi but she sure as hell gets around!!

  • The first clue is "Dallas Highway Safety Authority". There is no such entity.

Apologies to the board...it's not that I want Romo injured...but dammit I had an image that Dallas would be forced to trade for Nick Foles...which led to Dallas going 10-6...which led to Dallas making the playoffs...which led to Dallas winning at least 1 playoff game

    Got ahead of myself

The fact that you have more faith in Nick Foles over Tony Romo shows me that you know nothing. If Dallas didnt have 5 defensive starters injured or a second rate offensive line they would have made the playoffs. Sure Tony gets his fair share of the blame but not enough to say that an unproven 1st year player would turn things around. Or maybe you were just kidding and really do believe that Romo can win in Dallas and im just getting ahead of myself.

I would take anyone over Tony.

I don’t believe there is a ledge involved. It’s just that I do not believe Tony is capable of stringing together three complete games in a row to win a super bowl, without having one of his famous meltdown games. Much less four if they are a wildcard team. And the window on the current team is closing fast, so I believe they should try another approach.

The window may be closing sooner than expected...Dallas expected to cut Miles Austin to get below the salary cap, per Mortensen & Shefter on ESPN

Saw a report that Austin would be staying earlier this week, per JJ.

I'm probably in the minority, but losing Austin wouldn't hurt IMO. He's another that's gotten a big contract after 1 decent year and then stayed hurt/folded. Marion Barber says "hey".

Another great move by the GM.
