Cowboys free agency analysis: Ground game was historically bad in 2012, but which free agents could help?

As a Cowboy fan taking Lattimore in the 2nd intruigues the Hell out of me.

OL and Secondary would be my two focus points for the 1st 2 rounds. Franchising Spencer means the starting DL is pretty much set, just needing depth and a true 3-tech, the impact of which outside of a top 10 draft guy will come from FA you would think.

I'd look for RB depth (two injury prone RBs) and a 3rd receiver (Cowboys seem to go through those like candy) after that.

A guy like Mike Gillislee out of Florida should be available in the 3rd or 4th. Would pair nicely with both Murray and Jones if he's resigned.

Jonathan Franklin out of UCLA would be a good value pick in the 3rd and a great in the 4th.

I really like giovoni Bernard out of unc and the qb at duke in the 5th round would be a steal imho

Lattimore scares me too much. I love Step Taylor. Also would be very happy with Franklin and Joseph Randle in 3-5.

I heard the Duke QB mentioned . Don't know too much about him. What kind of player is he?. I'm sure he's had excellent coaching from David Cutcliffe.

Warmack no question. Mayock isn't too far off in his assessment that he's the best player in this class, plus he fills a huge need. You pair him with a guy like Barrett Jones in the 2nd, and you've instantly upgraded the weakest positional group on the team, and by a significant amount.

I want no part of Richardson. A.) the dude is ridiculously overrated imo. and B.) the dude is a punk. Those types typically don't do well in Dallas under Jerrys watch. Plus I think the need for DL is bit overrstated and is something that can be addressed through FA.

I love me some Kenny V and would've been all for taking him at 18 if Rob Ryan were still the DC. Kenny has no business playing in a cover two scheme as its not what he does well, and it prevents him from doing what he does do well. If we're looking at safeties, I really like the Thomas kid from Syracuse. Not in the first round obviously, but His range and striking ability would be a perfect fit in Montes defense. Plus he's got the frosted tip dreads........hard to go wrong with frosted tip dreads.
