Highly doubtful. They knew there was no foul play involved which tells me this was a football matter and he was probably disciplined and didn't like it. Sumlin never came out with any statement of concern.

"Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin expressed the team and the school's concern for Johnson's welfare in a statement released by the school on Wednesday night.

"All of us are obviously very concerned about the safety and well-being of Thomas Johnson, who has been missing since Monday evening," Sumlin said in the statement. "Authorities are working closely with his family, friends and law enforcement agencies to help locate him. Thomas is a tremendous student-athlete, greatly admired by his fellow teammates and all of us on the coaching staff. If anyone has any current information about him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact his family or law enforcement authorities immediately. We pray for his quick and safe return"."

They might have been concerned that TJ would commit suicide. They ruled out foul play from the start. That tells me they knew he was upset about something. You don't bring the FBI in for that.

  • I wasn't commenting on the FBI side of it. You said Sumlin never came out with any statement of concern, which was obviously false. Who knows what the issue is. He's safe. I don't really care.

  • He tried to escape College Station and was finally caught. I'm glad he's ok though.

Still a missing person case, and they get involved with those. Worked with a girl in college that just up and disappeared one night at work. Car was there. Phone was off. She showed up a few days later in a gas station parking lot in South Austin unharmed. The FBI were at the place I worked getting all the data off her computer when they got the call that she had been located.
