This is simply too good not to post

  • Another thread about Orangebloods? My points from a month or so ago on the last thread are being proven true. I don't spend much time over there anymore, rarely post there, but still have my sub to check info here and there. I've had plenty of issues with that site in the past, but I'm certainly not over here crying about it or rushing to post what Ketchum, or someone else says about Hook'em.com. Let it go folks. Who cares what they say? This site should be good on its own merits. Crying about how you were banned over there or how you hate so and so poster is gay

  • I am a longtime subscriber to OB and came over here primarily because of Gerry. If you want a lot of OTs then OB is probably the place for folks like Ram. If you want the best coverage and realistic assessment of recruiting and Texas' sports, this site is unmatched.

    Pretty much my same story. Ketch banned me because I made mention that all of OBs info is on the radio, which it is. After several email exchanges and him promising to remove the ban, he never did and I left. His product is slipping and he knows it.

    papa horn, you stay on top of things very well. And I probably missed something.

    However, I don't recall seeing a single post in which a 24/7 staffer bashed OB.

  • First of all, I think the fact that they won't allow links to Hookem.com but will allow them to ESPN probably tells you where they truly feel their "competition" is coming from.

    As it relates to the OP, there are a couple of just downright incorrect statements.

    1. We're not disappointed with subscription numbers. We're actually much further than we thought we would be.

    2. As it relates to the longevity and viability of this network, I'd remind Geoff that we probably know a little bit more about building a network than he does. And we've turned down far more opportunities for additional capital to build the network from a "competitor" than he may realize.

    As for the rest of it and how it relates specifically to Texas, I've been saying this for months and I'll say it again right now and I don't hide behind it.

    I think Gerry Hamilton and Jeff Howe actually know what's going on in recruiting at Texas. I think other people guess multiple ways.

  • I just checked orangebloods and don't see anything about a 2013 OL prospect meeting with the coaches. Case closed on who knows what is going on at UT?

    I probably worded it incorrectly. I have never seen a staff member from this site criticize OB. The HookEm staff have actually requested it not take place and have refrained from getting involved in the mud slinging. It's called professionalism.
