    This is like a contest for the tallest midget, or the smartest regard. Pulling for an aggy buttkicking shows only that most of us despise aggy more than ou. Nothing more, nothing less.

    While I agree in principle, I did root for blowU one other time -- to beat KSU in the Big 12 championship in 2003 to get us into the BCS and they screwed us on that one, and still made the freaking national championship game. As a result, I definitely strongly prefer blowU to win, but I'll call it something other than rooting for them.

    This is the kind of thing that happens when you root for Oklahoma.

    I am really disgusted with all of you that will be rooting for the Sooners.

    We may see a real slowdown in recruiting momentum if the Sooners give Aggy a good buttwhippin to go along with the other losses being racked up by the mighty SEC.

    I don't agree with that at all.

    It's pretty simple. Is UT better off with a sooner or an aggie loss? With the way a&m has been recruiting the state and with the momentum that they've got, we need for them, and the rest of the SEC to keep losing. Has nothing to do with rivalries.

  • I have a kid at ATM. Not only will I be cheering for ATM, I will be wearing an aggie dad shirt that she bought me for Christmas. Nothing good ever comes from OU winning, and this is no exception. You guys who didn't learn in 2003 or, much less, in 2008 are simply hopeless. ATM's got some momentum, but they'll screw it up. There is never a good time to cheer for the sooners.

    I will, however, be violently cheering for Notre Dame on Monday.

  • I have never rooted for OU and won't start doing it now but Texas would probably be better off if OU beat Aggy. Even with the ass kickings and OU having a better record Mack still beats OU head to head for recruits. Aggy on the other hand is starting to beat Texas head to head on recruits.

    I'm sorry for you. My kid was briefly recruited by aggy for softball. I prayed she wouldn't get an offer.

    ETA: But good on ya for supporting your kid. I would have worn aggy dad crap if my kid ended up there. But she didn't, so it all worked out for me.

    There are only two reasons I'm rooting for OU over A&M: 1) A&M is in the SEC, which is annoyingly overrated 2) OU hasn't posed a recruiting threat lately. If either of those weren't true, I would be pulling for A&M to put their D in OU's B. I despise OU, A&M is just the annoying little sister

    Good for you guys. I'm not quite so reasonable. I told my kids from the time they could talk, that if they wanted to go to A&M, they'd have to pay for it themselves and I'd see them after they graduated. They understood and it was never an issue.

    LOL. I did the same, but its much different when your kid has a chance to play scholarship ball at an elite D-1 program. And yes, Aggie Softball is considered elite. But like I said it ended up pretty well for me.

  • I rooted for Texas vs USC in 2005. There are days I regret that but it never lasts long before Kiffen or USC does something else to make me hate them more.

    I have plenty of ATM friends who would qualify as "2%ers" and are just normal dudes. I never told her she couldn't go there, although I'd have made a different choice with the options she had. Her best friend went with her and she seems happy and normal, still, so I'm fine with it and hope not to regret it.

    I can say honestly that I am not rooting for either team. When the coin is flipped, I'll probably know how I'll feel, even if, perhaps, I have to fake it in the presence of younger company. The game flatly sickens me, although it should be entertaining.

    I might have reconsidered if a free ride was involved. But as I was typing this, I thought if my kid was good enough for A&M, surely they'd be good enough for some other school. So no, why risk losing your kid to the aggie brainwashing, indoctrination machine. Would have long term effects on our relationship if they didn't HATE A&M.
