Difficult yes, impossible no. I think our performance and Baylor without RGIII may put some different ideas in his head if our offense can show some improved passing.

I would normally write this off as a typical 2 star Baylor recruit but with the way they have been recruiting, this offer has the looks of having more to do with keeping Rhodes than it does taking Harris based on his talents.

This. I hate the creep for 08 but he is a good coach an we need our conference to be tough and competitive.
Also, I'm not sure Rhoads is flippable. From what I've read he really likes Baylor/Waco.

and unless the arky fans I talked to are wrong, which is always possible, Arky brass prefer an offensive minded coach with some HC experience rather than a defensive one with none. Of course, lights out performance by the defense this year and that could change.

Butch Davis, Charlie Strong, & Gus Malzahn would be ahead of Diaz on the Arkie short list

If I remember correctly, back in the 80's, Baylor had a recruiting advantage because they could offer recruits a monthly stipend for living expenses because they didn't have on-campus dormitories. Anybody know if this is still true?

I think Wesley Harris projects better as a DB. That said, BU has two project QBs in he and Chris Johnson so you figure one will develop.

Arkansas' top 4 are Gus Malzahn, Butch Davis, Garrick McGee, and Skip Holtz. They want a guy with connections to the state (all 4 do), and HC experience (all 4 do). Of those guys, 3 of them are offensive-minded coaches and Butch Davis is the other.
Davis is already openly campaigning for the spot, and his relationship with Jerry Jones won't hurt his chances.
Safe to say that neither Diaz nor Briles will be on any short list.

Not sure if you are saying Briles is in consideration or Butch has about the same shot as Briles does. My understanding is Butch wants the job and is lobbying but is not numero uno on the list and is a longshot. Briles runs the type of offense that Arkansas likes though.

I'm agreeing with you basically but adding that, realistically, Davis has no greater chance landing the job than briles does

I can't imagine Arkansas going for a coach whose former program is getting hammered with sanctions after going through the Petrino debacle. Then again, they are Arkansas.

He was at the camp Friday and did really well as a corner. The fact he ran a 10.87FAT doens't hurt and legit 6'1.
