A couple of questions -
1. Why play Vaccaro at free safety now that we aren't trying to hide the other safeties lack of speed?
2. How are they going to keep Brown out of the starting lineup?
3. Isn't Dorsey more of a nose than D Jackson?
4. Could you see Hicks moving over to wlb against teams that are more run oriented?
that is some crazy depth in the secondary.
Last season, didn't the bigger Cedric Reed play SDE, while the smaller, quicker Reggie Wilson played WDE? Why do you project them switching?
Phillips is going to miss spring after having major shoulder surgery. That will open up playing time for the other young DB's.
Great work on this and the equivalent article on the offense, Bobby. These projected depth charts always involve some conjecture.
I see Hicks and/or Jackson playing the weakside LB. I think they like Cobbs too much on the strongside for him not to be on the two deep there. I think Diaz sees the strongside LB as a hybrid LB/nickel back. That's why I see Jinkens there, too.
Although Hicks could fit that mold, if both he and Cobbs are going to be starters, one of them has to move inside, and Hicks seems like the beter fit there. I see Cole at weakside LB also.
I expect to see Leroy Scott at safety. Evans and Thompson seem like very similar players. If Evans is going to get some work at corner, I would expect the same for Thompson, especially since Evans is going to be limited by his participation in track.
Love the depth at tackle, but it's hard to keep all those guys healthy, and you need a minimum of four of them for every game of the season. We've been fortunate injury-wise at DT for the last several seasons when the depth hasn't been very good to start with.
Any word on the healing time for Alex Norman's fractured ankle?

Norman will be fully healed by the time he makes it to campus. He didn't have surgery; so it was probably a very simply fracture with around a 10 weeks healing period. He's going to red-shirt, so won't be an issue at all.
great work bobby
