I've got to believe Deloss is completely embarrassed at the state of mediocrity in his department in every major sport. It's laughable. I guess Bill Powers just simply enjoys his money and doesn't care about mediocrity at The University of Texas because he keeps supporting this crap of an Athletic Department as well. You will seldom see any organization who has been TRANSFORMED from success to almost complete failure in such a short period of time. UT Athletics is like the U.S. Government...failure means success and extended contracts and increased separation from the people who really drive the program - the fans and the alumni that care about performance...at least in the eyes of Bill Powers and Deloss Dodds. Unbelievable and disheartening.

Deloss is lazy and does not want to replace any coaches in the time he has left as AD. I hope he takes his golfing buddies Rick, and Mack, with him on his way out the door.

A lot of truth in this. IMO it's the Geriatric stage. These old guys are on the down slope and are just trying to pad each others pockets and enjoy their riches. They don't care about building powerhouses. They just want to survive. I've never seen a group like this that even trys to turn the team against it's own fans to take the blame off of them; bad fans, negative fans, not your true friends, etc. Politics in motion, shift the blame to other people. They protect each other and no body including the BMD takes them on. Take a look at Clacknasty's signature pictures.

Yes he needs to go, but his time is about up anyway. This program is really in a pickle right now, mostly because it generates money, but it's a shoddy product. The former has the president and academia happy, but the latter is wiping out the fanbase.

DeLoss has got us into a situation where this program is not broke until ESPN says its broke. Until then we're all making money and footbawl fans can GTH. We have burned bridges with numerous peer institutions - creating a scattershot, makeshift conference that has lowered the value of the athletic product. Coupled with this, our main sports are performing way below par, and there seems to be no urgency. Why? Because DeLoss has sold our soul and so we are cashing checks from ESPN - for the time being.

Wasn't that a fun Thanksgiving game against TCU in a half-empty DKR? How do you like them Aggies btw? And what about West Virginia?? Boy what a great conference add that was, huh? And I don't mean just academically.... Yeah you go, DeLoss. Great job. This program is so effed right now I'm not sure how all of this will unravel, but I'm hoping it does quickly.

Meanwhile, a new AD to start painting a friendlier face on UT athletics would sure be nice. We have a lot of relationships to mend. Can't happen soon enough for me.

And for the last 7 years DD has produced nothing but a golf NC, the last 3 years the football program has a losing record in the Big12, in the last three years the BB program has won exactly one game in the NCAA playoffs, this year will make four years with one victory. He has supported us being in a conference that's seen four schools defect and two others attempt to but hadno takers. He established a network that shows games that very few Longhorn fans can see and he makes stupid arrogant comments. He, Mack, Rick and Augie have a buddy system that allows each of them to receive ridiculously inflated salaries for the programs they put on the field. All for the love of money. Maybe he is a class act but from what I've seen that wouldn't be my description of him and I doubt there would be many, if any AD's from other schools in the conference that would describe him that way.

So tell me how many other universities would prolong the firing of coaches that have not produced for at least five years except Texas? I cannot think of one. And I'm not just talking about football here. Take a good look at the major sports that Texas participates in. Name me one coach that should receive more money and extensions to their contracts besides perhaps the golf coach and the women's volleyball coach; possibly swimming. I'm not talking about co-coord either! I'm talking about the head coaches. Dodds, Plonsky and the President of UT need to either get with it and do something about bringing in coaches that want to win every game every year or they should all three resign!!! It's that simple!
