Leading up to the season Hookem.com will spotlight 30 of the most important players on the UT roster. Next up is one of two JUCO players who could have a huge impact in 2012.

  • I'm a big fan of going JUCO for line help. Those guys can usually come in so much more physically ready to perform than freshmen. I think that's the best place to insert JUCO players, offensive or defensive lines.

  • From all reports, he'll be a load if he doesn't get gassed too quick.

With the addition of MB2, along with Ashton Dorsey, Desmond Jackson and Chris Whaley there seems like there's going to be enough able bodies to keep him fresh for the crucial moments.

  • Well I am just glad Mack broke the mold and is finally using his recruiting tools in the juco ranks also! I am definitely rooting for Moore to have a big hand in this top notch defense!

Definitely. Doesn't make any sense to turn your back on an area of recruiting that can help you. I understand for the most part Texas doesn't want to go after JUCOs, but there are times when getting transfers that are the caliber of Moore and Donald Hawkins is absolutely necessary. And that time was now for UT.

Smart for Mack to understand the need and bend his rules in 2012.

No doubt. Not easy to move 335 pounds.

  • JMO but the play of the tackles is the key to how strong the Texas defense is this year. If Messrs. Moore, Jackson, Whaley, Dorsey and one Mr. Malcom Brown wreck shop then Texas should be a national top 3 defense. DE, LB and the backfield looks set.

  • "But he could put up 50 tackles, including 15 for loss and four sacks. And if he does that, teams are going to have a tough time deciding how they’re going to account for Moore, Okafor and Jackson Jeffcoat. Oh, and Chris Whaley, too. Oh, and any players Manny Diaz decides to blitz."

Don't forget M. Brown in the DTs to account for. Ridiculous how much DT has improved. I think even if Randall came back, hed be rotating in and out a lot as well.
