Texas must offer early to keep up. In the late 90's and early 2000's we offered juniors and other schools had to keep up.
I would have preferred to wait till after their Jr year to see how they mature, physically and mentally but just cant do that these day so we need coaches who are great evaluators. Like other schools we will have more de-commitments than we are use to but this is recruiting these days. I hope the NCAA will create an earlier signing period to make it easy for some guys.

A 'FNL' event is a showcase camp where you invite a lot of players and it usually occurs in July. Its a hyped up event but basically a camp. Takes place in the evening/night, after 6pm at your stadium. You can invite some x-players and offer the top players. They have been going on for at least 6-7 years but recently have gotten a lot of pub. Kids love this type of event.
Texas should definitely do it and hopefully be able to invite some recent players and old stars back. Earl, Priest, Rickey, JC, Fozzy, Rogers/Hampton, Blaylock, good Roy, Acho bros, DJ, Orakpo, our Thorpe award winners and a couple more that should have one(ET, MG, AW), McCoy, a QB who should have won the Heisman and a few others. You would think some HS players might want to attend that.
