According to a list calculated by BamaOnLine's Chris Walsh. He took into account several factors and has the Longhorns at No. 7.

You just don't get it, now do you? :) If Texas was ever lucky enough to be graced with a SEC patch on their jersey then Texas would be number 1. Unfortunately, for your team's sake, A&M will be the best program in Texas in about... next season according to BOL.

Any half critical post gets down voted. A lot of posters can only see the world through orange colored glasses and lack a broader view. They would rather down vote than discuss.

I understand that. That was not the only resource I was speaking of though. Money does buy great facilities to sell to recruits and should buy the top coaching staff or at least a top 3 staff. In addition to money, UT is the flagship university in the 2nd or 3rd most fertile recruiting territory. It is in a football crazed state and has unlimited support. It has a world class academic institution to sell and it has basically controlled every conference its been in. The result of all these built in advantages should be more than 4 NCs. Texas SHOULD have more than schools like Nebraska,Oklahoma, and Alabama. The fact that we don't bothers me.

We can't "buy" a championship. And not every 5-star athlete that would even like to come to Texas can qualify. Besides, Nub and Bama recruit at the margins. As a result they have had more bites at the apple. Texas has had its chances at the top prize but failed more often than not. We are still all-time over each of those that you mention. But agree the sting of less natty's is a tough pill.

I'm as big of a UT fan as anyone. Outside of the spirit that created all in the universe, myself, and my family, there is nothing in this material world I love more than the University of Texas football. I detest the excuse making, holier than thou attitude, and accusations that everyone else cheats for their NCs that comes from our fanbase. USC didn't cheat their way to all 12 NCs they have. Bama didn't cheat their way to 14 (or 9 if that is the number you use). Neither did Nebraska or Oklahoma. Has shady crap gone on in most of these places, sure. I'm not stupid. I just don't agree with using the excuse that everyone else has cheated to explain the lack of NCs Texas has. Texas has too much in its favor to only have 4, period.

The Bama SID during the Perkins years freely admitted he started adding championships in order to drum up hype around the program as it went into decline after bear but before Stallings. that was during the 80's. Bama fans conveniently dismiss the guy even though he was the one who did it.
