Texas finishing?

  • Do you expect Texas to finish strong at 9-3 or 10-2, or do they fall apart starting with TCU and finish 8-5?

  • Texas fell apart in Dallas.

  • This BS that Texas has improved greatly since OU or Baylor will die on Thanksgiving night, win or loss. TCU is going to be a hell of a fight. KSU will probably win by 20.

Is it OK to just wait and see? If I knew the outcome of every season in September, I probably wouldn't be as interested in each game.

Fair enough - ultimately we have no choice but to "wait and see." Just trying to get a pulse for what people THINK.

It will certainly not impact the results though.

  • Who knows what team will show up for Texas. The offense that comes out firing or the one that has gone conservative at times this year. The defense that schemes, stunts, slants itself out of the plays or the defense that we saw in the second half of the Kansas game and the Tech game. There is nothing consistent about this team at all.

It seems to be getting better the last two games though... KState will be a very difficult win on the road. I could see us winning 10 games (counting the bowl)

  • To be honest, I could see us winning or losing both. That's just the feeling you get with this team right now. I will say that it appears that we've got a little momentum going and you finally have something on the field that one can recognize on defense. Now, whether that holds or improves as we move forward? Thats the million dollsr question, but one thing is for certain; there is absolutely no way we stroll in to Manhattan Kansas and get a win unless our defense plays like it did last year in that game. If we can somehow find a way to mirror that kind of performance, then I like our chances. For me, a lot will depend on how we come out and play against TCU. I think that game will shed some light, particularly on offense, as TCU's D did a good job of limitng K state on offense.

  • If TCU pounds the ball the way ISU started and should have continued (not play to QB's weakness of passing) and like everyone has all season, they will win. We can't stop the run and they have a good defense to stop our offense. Everyone seems to have forgotten that ISU didn't have their Stud Middle LB in the game due to injury. So I'm not convinced our running game and OL have all of a sudden gotten so much better. We all know how our defense suffered after losing Hicks.

Forget beating KSU. We can't beat them even in our best years at home or away. They just have our number. Their strength in running will overwhelm our inability to stop it.

My biggest concern is that Mack gets conservative again in trying not to lose to TCU rather than going all out to win it. We had our backs against the wall (season on verge of disintegrating) going into TT and ISU and that "desperation" led to more aggressive offensive play calling. I think the best we will do is 9-3 before the bowl game with no signature wins against a Top10 team. We are still an average team. But I would sure love to be proven wrong !!!

Right now, and going forward with Mack, so long as we play middle of the road competition, we're fine, but if we line up against equal or superior competition, we'll shit ourselves. What's worse, the bar keeps getting lowered.

No, the quality of the opponent got worse. 10 wins is doable, but also meaningless as a metric of success for this program.

I agree. TCU just sets up for a massive let down game. The players, coaches and even a lot of the fanbase now thinks we're getting back on track, when in reality in our last 4 wins, 3 of them have come against the worst 3 teams in the conference. Two of the those games we barely snuck by. I think we can beat TCU but its not going to be as close to as easy as some people on here are making it sound. I fully expect KState to destroy us so I'll go 9-3, but 8-4 wouldn't suprise me in the least.

I love threads where people don't reply to the question and instead try to refute a point they think the poster is making. Ludicrous.

    9-3

  • Beat TCU, get reamed by Klein in Kansas. Win bowl.

Good news is we send KState to the MNC and give Klein the Heisman.
