You seem to be confused about the "on paper" comment, so I'll clarify.

You posted Ash's stats, which look good on paper. If you watched the games however, you'd know that Ash is limited as a QB and was useless against the two toughest defenses he played all year.

Manziel's award is not on paper. It was given to him by people that watched him play all year.

You ignore Manziel's game against Alabama, one of the three best defenses in the country. You also ignore Ash's games against KU, one of the worst defenses in the country. You ignore that Manziel got better as the season went along, and you ignore that Ash got worse as the season went along. You ignore that Manziel and his team beat the then #1 team in the country at their place, and you ignore that Ash has been benched three times this year.

You wanna stop the run then don't mad dog the LOS with your LBs. If the linebackers keep blitzing themselves out of the play it doesn't make a shit who you put at DE.

I agree, scheme is bad from Manny, but you gotta agree that our Defensive Tackles and Ends played like they were on roller skates as well. Our Tackles couldn't separate from their blockers to save their lives. That meant that the offensive line could hold their blocks and force our LB's to make the tackle or rely on the secondary to do so. Especially early in the year, Manny was running our LB's out of the play with cute blitz packages... That seemed to decrease later in the year though.

Dorsey was very disruptive in the backfield and he seemed as fast as any end that we had on the team. I know we would lose a little bit on the pass rush, but most of these Big 12 QB's are getting the ball out of their hands fast anyway. Dorsey would be able to pressure the QB and absolutely stuff the running game. I don't think it's a reach. Dorsey is friggin fast.
