Texas-UTPA game thread (FINAL)

After all that talk about how great the top of the Texas order is hitting today hitters 1-3 go down in order in the bottom of the 4th.
Hall had good contact but the ball died in the strong inward left-to-right wind. Walla went down swinging and Weiss grounds to third. Horns still leading as we roll into the 5th
Top 5th: 3-1 Texas

Great range showed by Hinojosa on that double play to end the 5th. He had to go out and towards third to backhand a well-hit grounder. He corralled it and quickly threw a dart to second to start the 6-4-3. Great play.

Pan Am pitcher Sam Street hasn't allowed a hit in the last 11 Texas ABs. Two errors is all Texas has put on the bases since the third inning.

Hinojosa gets on base with an error on the Pan Am shortstop but nothing doing for the Horns in the bottom of the 5th.

Only Weiss, Payton and Hinojosa have hits today for the horns... Gotta find other guys able to consistently hit beside those three guys.

Duke comes in and allows back to back hits but works around them to get out of the inning with nothing doing for Pan Am.
Silver, Marlow, Hall due up for Texas.

Some are, they just often get offered a lot of money to go pro.
That plus The Disch is such a big park that, knowing he'll lose a lot of power guys, I think he values having a lot of very talented speed guys on the team to take advantage of the park.

Dave - agree but runs are required to win in college baseball today - speed is definitely important and exciting ball but you need to hit the ball and get on base to utilize their speed
