Whoa! Offense and some defense! A run! 12-10 deficit still, but showing a lot of life.
Progress on defense. I just saw Felix and Holland switch cleanly on a screen.
That's the second time Papapetrou has tried to feed a post who has a defender draped all over him. Didn't work either time.
That play is exactly why it will be tough for Ridley to declare before year three. Not an athlete. NBA players will give him fits.
That can be a problem. pass into the post going right over Felix's head.
Ibeh looks to be a great athlete, nice to have a rim protector.
Well...the team is playing a little harder and crisper today.
The offense still sucks...bad screens, timing of screens, and cutting angles coming into and off of screens.
I'm still baffled why Barnes won't put Lewis and McClellan into the game at the same time in the 1st half....completely baffled.
Ridley is about half the player I was expecting. How could anyone have talked about this guy being a one and done? His game is weak, he isn't dominating guys a lot smaller than him, and he isn't athletic for bing only 6'9".
Dejuan Blair dominated college BB in the big east in the paint for a couple years as a 6'7" big man who was twice the player Ridley is, and he's barely a marginal 4th or 5th NBA big man. Ridley looks like a 4 year guy to me
Lots of slipping now.
Nice run out by Papi on the break.
OK, there are still lots of problem areas, but the team looks way better than it did last night. Unfortunately, we are about at the part of the game where Texas was up by 7 on Chaminade last night.
Cameron Ridley = not as good as advertised...not even close.
Whoever had him ranked in the Top 20 in the nation was wrong. Maybe potentially, but right now, Ridley is learning the nuances of post play.
He doesn't post up with authority and doesn't understand the post setup to the ball entry angle.
On top of that, he's not very athletic. Big and strong, but not a ton of vertical.
Ibeh had a good idea with that pass, but throwing it at Holmes' feet didn't help.
