UCSB comes to Austin with an 8-4 record and riding a four-game win streak. Probable Friday starter Andrew Pettibone is 2-0 in three appearances and has allowed only two earned runs in 21.1 innings. The Gauchos also have five regulars batting over .300 and another batting .295.

French gives up a five-pitch walk and a single to give UCSB a little two-out rally, but then induces a grounder to first to end the inning. No hard hit balls, all but one kept in the infield.
As much as the Horns have struggled against good pitchers this season so far they may find it tough to get anything going against Pettibone tonight. Solid.
