***Texas-Texas Tech game thread***

  • I'm not saying he hasn't played hard. But the turnover late in OT was an example of what Fran Fraschilla was saying the other day about him thinking that every possession might be the one that could get him into the NBA.

Instead, he backed away, got trapped late, and threw a horrible pass for a turnover. He thought he could make a game-clinching play and nearly helped Tech win it.

Clack has posted more than once that his basketball IQ is not great................but the play you referenced today was fatigue IMHO. He does however seem to kill his dribble too quickly. But man when he is in the center of the court on the fast break he can make things happen. But today not to have a FG vs Tech is just crazy.............

A count of the number of layups and dunks missed by the team this year would be eye opening.

Man when I watched how Tech finished all day but the Horns couldn't finish (again) at all. I think its a Todd Wright issue for the off season. Texas has to get stronger..............the positive of the day for me is Cam Ridley continues to get better. He is more active on the boards and the defensive end. The only problem is he can't throw it in the ocean unless its a dunk.

A little stickum on the hands for all involved wouldn't hurt, either. Maybe it's all just an indication that these young players are trying to play just a hair too fast.

I can't even really describe him as a player.
    He is just odd.
Like straight line fast but struggles to turn the corner on guys.
    Can't really shoot.
What kills me is those stupid ball fakes he does that no one ever goes for because they are in slow motion.

  • Another theory is that Kabongo struggles against defenders that are quicker or have similar quickness to him.

Most of the team (besides McClellan) looked tired and off yesterday. Holmes and Papi looked like they couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time...off balance and out of it most of the game. Kabongo just didn't look into it either.

  • Always the chance that Barnes worked them like dogs this week after they played on Monday.
