Texas Ash # 5 Nationally Leads Big 12 in Passing Efficiency

  • Texas quarterback Ash is leading #5 Texas Nationally in passing Efficiency. The current # 1 passing efficiency is Georgia while Bama is at #2 Nationally at passing Efficiency. While Texas also enjoys the luxury as being # 5 in sacks allowed Nationally it shows the progress Searls has done to this offensive line since last year. Mack Browns hiring of Searls and Harsin / Applewhite is finally showing the direction this offense is headed. Since TCU ranks #6 Nationally at interceptions Texas offense will bode well as Ash has grown not to throw interceptions this year and Texas offense is holding the ball and not fumbling the ball as in the past. Texas should get it 9th win on Thanksgiving and head into Kansas st. looking of their 10th win for a BCS Bowl bid.

  • After the first 2 home games, I was worried about Ash. He was late with decisions. He was hesitant.

I'm not any longer. The kid has developed this year and still has room to get better. I'm excited for his future.

  • Ash should be the top QB in the Big 12 next year across the board. He is exactly what we needed after the bust that Gilbert turned out to be.

I just hope he can stay healthy for the rest of his career.

If he continues to progress as he has I agree. He has yet to reach his full potential IMO.

I agree. Right now, I wouldn't trade him for any QB in the country.

If I had my druthers, I'd never let Harsin leave. He might be the best OC we have ever had at Texas.

That's taking it a bit far, but I am happy with Ash.

Interesting - who would you take over Ash?

Maybe Barkley, Murray, or Wilson... I doubt it though, because that would mean we are starting from scratch in 2013. I don't think I would trade Ash for anyone either.

  • I'm extremely happy with Ash and a huge fan of his. I think he's got the potential to be great, but he's not even the best QB in this state right now.

    Give me Marcus Mariota.

Mariota is a stud. If you're gonna go there - I actually like JW Walsh better.

However, what do you think about their ability to fit into our offensive philosophy?

6'4 and 211 is excellent size for a QB though...

Mariota can fling it, he's 6'4", and crazy fast. I wouldn't worry about him at all.

I agree about Harsin. I'm surprised there's not more talk about him taking over for Mack when he retires.

  • As long as texas keeps running, he will be good. You cant build the offense around him first. He has to have a running game.

There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
