I understand being upset, but I don't understand the Jerry bashing. He goes from answering to Diaz to running his own defense. He is tripling his salary. He doesn't have to travel the state to recruit 16 and 17 year olds -- Gray hasn't been in the college game in years, so recruiting is a HUGE adjustment for him.

Wow, I can't understand all the hate for Jerry Gray. When any of you guys are willing to turn down triple your salary, then you can say something. Otherwise, you should shut up because the man took another job. There's not another person on this board that would have done differently if they'd have been in the same situation.

just because you're willing to whore yourself out to the next highest bidder, you shouldn't assume everyone else will follow suit.
Make it about the ability to call plays. Make it about not willing to work for Diaz. Make it about not wiling to recruit. Make it about wanting to get back to the NFL, but PLEASE, don't make it about money. Gray resigned from his $600k/year job to take a lower paying job at UT. No one forced him into this. In all honesty, do you think it makes a meaningful difference in a person's lifestyle between $600k a year in Seattle vs. $1 mil in Nashville?

I didn't think I needed to go into detail. Like I said, if you were in the same situation you would have most certainly done the same thing. IMO, you're only kidding yourself if you believe differently. And as far as 'whoring yourself out', we all do it buddy, one way or another. Leaving all other considerations mentioned in this thread aside, I still bet you'd make a change in your job for a lot less that what Gray did.
