I was in Pittsburgh last week for a few days and we had the opportunity to drive by the Pitt campus. Walking around on their campus I saw two college affiliations - Pitt and Texas. The Texas sightings stunned me, but in one pass through, we saw two separate folks wearing UT gear for reasons that I can't place. It was funny, but it never ceases to amaze me how far the brand reaches. I saw more Texas gear in Dublin this summer than Yankee gear. The ratings follow suit. If Texas is good, the viewers will show up, whether they love us or hate us. Fox is a handicap right now, but they'll be better entrenched over time and real numbers should be interesting for everyone as that happens. I'm guessing they're going to be begging for Texas and USC games from the Big 12 and Pac no matter who those teams are playing.
