TCU recruiting

  • How are the Frogs doing in their first year recruiting as a Big 12 school? Any changed the mods have noticed from talking with people while on the road?

  • Just reading on Killerfrogs some feel that they need a year of success in the Big XII to really improve recruiting. Recruits like TCU in the Big XII and now they need to see results. That's from a TCU fan.

They only have 2 kids committed and I like the oline men Patrick Morris. We flirted with him earlier and he has a mean streak. TCU needs to continue to recruit linemen like this and not kids from the southwest prepatory conference. They'll start 2 from there this year, a 1A offensive linemen and a kid from Kansas, who's their best offensive linemen. They need better trench guys.

This was all from a thread about missing on Eldridge Massington. Talked about how 1 and 2 tier recruits aren't giving them the time of day and the 3rd and 4 th tier aren't committing either.

I think and hope our game this year with them will be much like our previous games with the supposed high powered Kansas and mizzou teams that come to Austin. Heavy on offense but no where near the 2nd and 3rd teamers we have. That late in the season those teams and hopefully TCU will be battered from a long brand new Big XII campaign and just too beat up to make a game of it. I'll call it 48-21. We should be able to run all over them like tech last year. They have a small defense

TCU plays defense Kansas and Mizzou didn't

  • Texas would have offered Patrick Morris had numbers not been an issue is what I was told. I was told Searels really liked him as an interior prospect.

I still hear about TCU continuing to get out and evaluate well. They were the first school I heard of that was on Dac Shaw. Robbie Rhodes also likes TCU, but he wants to get away from home a little bit. They were on him early.

The school that I think is going to give them some issues in recruiting is Baylor. The Baylor staff busts its collective butt out on the road seeing kids in the spring.

I have been surprised by how little I have been hearing about TCU from recruits. It seems like the type of recruits that had TCU high on their lists last year have replaced them with Baylor.

  • TCU has some of the best talent evaluators in Texas. They will do fine.

  • The campus drug raids involving the football players has really hurt their recruiting this spring.
